Welcome to Ilkley Harriers

The Ilkley Incline is a unique, 1 mile, uphill-only race where 560ft of climbing will be rewarded with stunning views across the Wharfe Valley. The route starts on tarmac road, which then becomes stony track. This friendly race attracts road and trail runners alike.

A share of the profits from the race will be given to the Revival Centre and Orphanage in Matugga, Uganda, which has been supported since the race started in 2008.

The Ilkley Moor Fell Race has been staged by Ilkley Harriers every year since 1990. It is a hard fell race on Ilkley’s famous, scenic moor with steep, slippery, and rocky descents.

This 10k, first held in 2024, is a tribute and a memorial to our friend and fellow Harrier Pete Shields who died early in 2020. Pete was a gifted runner himself and an outstanding coach, who had guided runners from far and wide, also leading training sessions for athletes at club, national and international levels over many years. He was exceptional at getting the best out of all runners, but especially skillful in encouraging those young enthusiastic runners who are the lifeblood of the sport.
