Sam Bentham had an amazing race, leading from the start to win the Blencathra and Blease Fell race in an incredible time of 45 minutes and 50 seconds. The route goes up via Doddick fell with a ridge run along to Blencathra summit and then on the Blease Fell. It was a bit misty but very atmospheric with the summit ridge covered in snow and verglas. The descent was a bit tricky with plenty of slipping and sliding (at least for me) to finish along a narrow footpath with steep stone steps but everyone got down safely and enjoyed the hot drinks at the end.

Sam won first under 23, winner overall and fastest up to the top!

Jamie Bentham has a great run and finished in 1:12:53 wearing his Harriers vest for the first time and I finished in 1:19:23.
