From Petra Bijsterveld…
This LDWA event is a hardy perennial amongst Harriers and 2023 was no exception. For only £8 you get a super friendly event (can be run or walked) with regular checkpoints, tea and hot food at the end, and a badge and certificate. This year extra helpings of mud and bog along the course had been added free of charge. The section from Beamsley Beacon to Ellercar Pike was particularly grim. I had taken my poles for that stretch and they served me well, though flippers and a snorkel may have been equally appropriate. On the upside the weather proved much better than forecast, we had no rain and plenty of sunshine today.
