Wednesday evening saw a small gathering of Ilkley Harriers receive a warm welcome at the first actual, non-virtual race of the Harrogate Summer Road League; rather too warm for most, with the evening temperatures being in the mid 20 degrees centigrade.  

This didn’t deter Dan who ran a scorcher to finish in second place. Other Harriers also performed well and I was super chuffed to be third lady overall!

Participants were set off at intervals in small groups which maintained social distancing. The race started and finished with a lap of the field and incorporated some undulating lanes in between.  

Thank you to Wetherby Runners who hosted a well-organized and marshalled event. It was won by Scott Harrington of Otley AC, hot on the heels of his Ilkley Half Marathon victory.
