Post Hill Challenge – Sat 12 Nov

From Forrest Hamilton…

The Post Hill Challenge is a 3.5-mile trail race run through the Post Hill woods in Pudsey with 570ft of elevation gain mostly coming from the notorious climb (which you go up twice) after which the race is named.

One local pre-race could be heard exclaiming with mild horror that a madman was warming up by jogging up Post Hill…

The photos perhaps don’t do the gradient (which Strava calculates at 51%!) justice and it was hands on knees for the vast majority of the field, Tom being the exception as he galloped up the cobbles to win by over a minute.

With great local support and fast, flowing descents to enjoy after your calves have been brutalised on the climbs, it’s a fantastic little race which I hope will stay in the Ilkley Race League and attract some more Harriers in the future.
